What Changes About Therapy Once You’re a Few Months In

Early sessions tend to be information-dense — history, context, the shape of the problem. A few months in, most clients notice the sessions get quieter and more specific: less scene-setting, more direct work on a particular pattern. That shift is a good sign, not a plateau, even though it can feel less dramatic than the first few weeks.

It’s also usually when we revisit the original plan together and adjust frequency, format, or focus — which is why we build in a check-in around the two-month mark by default rather than waiting for a client to ask for one.
