Our Philosophy

Care that adjusts to you, not the other way around.

Most people don't arrive knowing exactly what kind of help they need — they just know something feels heavy. Our first conversation is always about listening before it's about a treatment plan. From there, we build something specific: individual sessions, a process group, a structured recovery track, or a combination that shifts as you do.

We keep caseloads small on purpose. A clinician who's tracking twelve people has more room to notice the small changes that matter than one tracking sixty.

  • Caseloads capped so your clinician actually remembers last week
  • Telehealth and in-person, switch anytime
  • No pressure to commit past a single free consultation

How Care Unfolds

A path forward, paced like an evening walk.

Free consultation

A 20-minute call to talk through what's going on and whether we're a fit.

First session

Your clinician learns your history at your pace, not a checklist's.

A plan, together

Individual, group, or a combined track — reviewed and adjusted regularly.

Ongoing care

Weekly or biweekly sessions, with room to change frequency as things shift.

Step-down

A slower cadence as things stabilize, with the door open if you need more again.

Try It Now

A grounding exercise, right here on this page.

The 5-4-3-2-1 technique is one of the simplest tools we teach in a first session — a way to interrupt a spiral by anchoring back into your senses. Work through it now if it would help.

5-4-3-2-1 Method
5
Name five things you can see around you right now.
Notice color and detail, not just objects.
Approaches We Use

A few tools, used well, beat a dozen used loosely.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral TherapyIdentifying and reworking the thought patterns that keep a feeling stuck.

DBT

Dialectical Behavior TherapySkills-based work for emotional intensity — distress tolerance, regulation, effectiveness.

EMDR

Eye Movement ReprocessingA structured approach for processing specific traumatic memories.

Somatic

Somatic & Body-Based WorkWorking with how distress shows up physically, not only in thought.

In Their Words

What people tell us, once they're a few sessions in.

"I came in for six weeks of "just figuring things out." I stayed two years, on my own terms, because it never felt like a program I was being run through."

J
J. M.Individual therapy client

"The group was the part I almost skipped. It ended up being the reason the individual sessions actually stuck."

R
R. T.IOP graduate

"Nobody made me explain my whole history in the first session. We started with this week."

Access & Cost

We try to make the practical part simple.

Therapy is hard enough to start without also untangling a benefits letter. We verify your coverage before your first session and tell you the real number, not an estimate. A sliding-scale fund covers a portion of our caseload at any time — ask, even if you assume you won't qualify.

  • Individual session (50 min) $150–190
  • Group session (90 min) $65
  • Intensive Outpatient (weekly) Insurance billed directly
  • Sliding-scale slots Ask at consultation
  • Superbills for out-of-network Provided monthly

Questions

Before you reach out.

What actually happens in a first session?

Mostly listening. We ask about what brought you in, what you've already tried, and what a good outcome would look like to you — there's no intake checklist that has to be finished before we start being useful. Most first sessions run 50 minutes.

Do you take insurance?

We're in-network with most major insurers in Texas; out-of-network clients can use our superbills for reimbursement. We verify your specific benefits before your first appointment and tell you the real copay, not an estimate.

How is group therapy different from individual sessions?

Group work adds something individual therapy structurally can't: real-time practice being seen by other people while it's hard, in a room with a clinician managing the pace. Most of our clients do both, at least for a while.

What if I'm not sure therapy is what I need?

That's a completely normal way to start. The consultation call is free specifically so you can ask a clinician that question before committing to anything.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes, with the standard legal exceptions around imminent safety risk, which your clinician will walk through with you directly in the first session — no surprises buried in paperwork.

The hardest part is usually the first message.

You don't need to know what you'd say in a first session. That's what the first session is for.
